One of the region’s top hotels, the Butler Arms in Waterville is run by the Huggard family. Originally opened in March 1884, the Butler Arms Hotel was purchased by Martin & Mary Huggard in 1915 and has since been in the Huggard family for four generations. It is currently run by Paula & Louise Huggard who’s prowess and professionalism makes this hotel a class apart and one of the most sought after in Kerry.

The Butler Arm Hotel serves world class food in the hotel restaurant, the Chaplin Sun Lounge and the public Fishermen’s bar. Winner of many awards for excellent cuisine, there is a varied menu on offer. The hotel specialises in a variety of fresh seafood & local meats, all of which are complemented with a superb wine list. All of the seafood on the menu is caught daily by local fishermen in the bountiful waters of this part of the coastline on the Wild Atlantic Way.

Charlie Chaplin regularly stayed in the Butler Arms Hotel. There's a Charlie Chaplin statue in the centre of Waterville and the village hosts an annual Charlie Chaplin Comedy Film Festival.
The cast and crew of Star Wars, including Mark Hamill, Daisy Ridley and JJ Abrams, stayed in the Butler Arms Hotel in 2014 and 2015 while filming scenes on Skellig Michael for The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi.
Walt Disney stayed in the Butler Arms Hotel in November 1946.
