Cloonacauneen castle is a stunning 15th century Norman castle situated on outskirts of Galway city in idyllic country side surroundings. Less than 10 minutes from Galway City Centre.
This beautiful family run castle is ideal for your Wedding Day, Birthday, Engagement, Retirement or Christmas Parties, Christenings, Communions & Confirmations, Corporate Entertainment Events, Private Dining Parties, Banquets, BBQ’s and much more with a function room that can cater for up to 200 seated guests and a BBQ area that can hold another 200 guests.
Accommodation is also present with rooms located in the Castle itself and also in the Castle Gate Guest House, located adjacent to the castle. The rooms are tastefully decorated with four poster beds and warm interiors.

We cater for weddings both large and small. Our magnificent tower room with its vaulted ceiling and large open fireplace for your intimate wedding of up to 20 guests, our luxurious dining room for up to 50 guests or our spacious banqueting hall for up to 200 guests. Cloonacauneen also provide the perfect backdrop for your civil ceremony or partnership.
A BBQ wedding is an option that is becoming increasingly popular with wedding couples and Cloonacauneen Castle BBQ area is ideal. We have a large covered area with heating and background music, which can cater for up to 200 guests. There is also an option to have a pig roasting on our purpose built spit.
