Founded independently by two local teachers - a natural scientist and a traditional musician - Cnoc Suain, meaning ‘Restful Hill’, encompasses a restored centuries-old hamlet (clachán), dry-stone-walled fields, modern vernacular structures, expansive blanket bogland and traces of an ancient past.
