Description

Situated in 'The Scalp' on the Dublin / Wicklow border Knockrose Garden is a place of peace and tranquillity, where it is blissfully easy to forget about the frantic pace of the 21st century and relax to a more natural and healing pace. The traditional farm buildings, dating from 1750, have the 'Pale Ditch' marking the historic boundary of South County Dublin on one side and The Scalp woods marking the start of the rugged Wicklow Mountains on the other.

The tastefully renovated traditional farm buildings include the Calm House and the Garden Studio. The Calm House is available to hire for Micro Wedding Ceremonies and other small events.

Situated 500 feet above sea level and sheltered by the soaring heights of 'The Scalp' the scents and colours of the renowned Knockrose Cottage Garden are a joy to the senses. Sitting on a tri-vortex of ley lines the unique atmosphere enables visitors to feel very protected and to become at peace with themselves. The Garden Studio (which is available to rent) is a wonderful place to create and exhibit art, share knowledge, or just enjoy a cup of tea after seeing the garden.

Wedding Description

Knockrose, which is recognised by the HSE as a wedding venue, provides a most unique and beautiful setting for your very special wedding ceremony. It is ideally suited to very small, intimate ceremonies whether they are held indoors or outdoors.

The Calm House is a lovely bright space with a most magnificent antique, stained-glass window which casts wonderful colours onto the birch flooring. This is a very special setting in which to hold your wedding ceremony whether it be a Spiritualist, Humanist, Druidic, Celtic or other non-denominational service.

Our garden is comprised of several ‘rooms’ which give a choice of beautiful settings should you decide to hold your ceremony outdoors. Knockrose is a very peaceful, natural and romantic garden where flower beds and shrubs blend seamlessly together enriched with the sounds of woodland birdsong.

Flowers from our organic garden can be provided if required.
