The classical components of a great Irish story: colourful characters, history, magic, a bit of exaggeration and the feeling that anything is possible. And sometimes the great Irish story is a place, maybe one in County Laois, filled with history but very much about now.
Nestled in 18 acres of native woodland, just over an hour from Dublin, Roundwood House is a B&B and restaurant with six bedrooms in the Main House, four in the older restored Yellow House, two self-catering cottages, a wonderful library, a dog that gives walking tours, two little girls, some hens and ducks to greet you on arrival and a rooster named Brewster.

Roundwood has been hosting weddings for over thirty years, each one as varied and unique as the couples themselves.
Celebrate in an exclusive Country House setting, surrounded by those closest to you, with excellent food and wine and a complete escape from the outside world.
Choose your own favourite spot for your ceremony, from a beautiful stone-walled courtyard with a wonderful sense of history, or by making an entrance from the staircase into the beautifully lit main hall of the house. After taking your vows, you and your guests enjoy a reception of Prosecco and local beers along with homemade sweet and savoury scones either in one of our beautiful indoor spaces, or outdoors on the side lawn if the weather plays ball.
An unforgettable four course dinner is served in the Library, an atmospheric converted coach house, decorated with flowers from our garden and candlelit.
Afterwards, it’s back to the main house where you can dance into the early hours, only stopping for a tasty midnight snack.
Exclusive use of Roundwood is possible for weddings of a minimum of 16 people, up to a maximum of 24. Accommodation is available for 24 people. Our attention to detail is matched by our expertise in handling special occasions, ensuring that every part of your day exceeds your expectations.
