This town centre Ennis Hotel rests on the site of a 19th century Convent of Mercy with a fascinating and eventful history. Prior to its conversion to a convent, the original houses, Row House and Lifford House was the property of Charles O’Connell, cousin of Daniel O’Connell.

The history of the Temple Gate Hotel is most evident in The Great Hall where awe inspiring stained glass windows transform natural light into a rainbow of colours.
The Great Hall still has many of its original features including vaulted ceiling with oak beams and hand painted batiks.
