The main house has 15 bedrooms and can sleep up to 36 guests + 2 guests in the Coachhouse + 18 glamping + 100 camping.
Built in 1766, The Millhouse and The Old Mill Slane, the weir and the millrace were once considered the largest and finest complex of its kind in Ireland. Originally a corn mill powered by two large water wheels, the harvest was hoisted into the upper floor granaries before being dried, sifted and ground.
Over time, the Old Mill became a specialised manufacturer of textiles turning raw cotton into luxury bed linen. Times have changed but this past remains part of our history, acknowledged and conserved.
In 2006, The Millhouse was creatively rejuvenated, transformed into a hotel and wedding venue of unique character - a nod to the early 1900's when it briefly served as a hotel-stop for passengers on pleasure steamer boats.
Our path of heritage continues. Today The Millhouse serves a new generation as one of Ireland's most characterful wedding venues.
Our experienced wedding coordinators and hospitality team take great pride in offering you imaginative, personal service. We offer alternative weddings in our Georgian Manor House wedding venue with a choice of indoor and outdoor venues for your civil ceremony. You can get married in our dramatic Mill ceremony room, in the Orchard or on the riverside garden. We will help make your wedding that extra bit special and memorable in Irelands truly magical, exclusive wedding venue on the banks of the River Boyne, Co. Meath.
Spectacular wedding banquets are held in the Pavilion, our beautiful, light-filled mirrored dining room. Decorated in warm, natural tones and with stripped-back wood flooring and a draped fabric ceiling, your guests can celebrate your wedding in style. At night the fairy light canopy and the chandeliers create an unforgettable starlit atmosphere.
We can accommodate 150 people here or, alternatively, the bi-fold doors at the front of the Pavilion can be opened to extend our Pavillion to 240 people using an add-on marquee giving enchanting views of the Orchard, gardens and the River Boyne. The Orchard is beautifully lit at night with fairy lights, creating a magical atmosphere and one that your wedding guests will remember forever.

Our Head Chef and his fantastic team are dedicated to providing a gourmet wedding feast. We use seasonal, local produce sourced from the rich Boyne Valley area, Ireland’s newest culinary region.
Our well-equipped private kitchen caters to your every request, from a gourmet BBQ style menu, to a four-course intimate wedding banquet in the Pavilion. A truly spectacular wedding reception.
Enjoy our beautiful private dressing room beside the river. This suite is the perfect space for you and your wedding party to enjoy all aspects of getting ready from hair to make-up, a haven to calm those pre-wedding nerves while getting amazing photographs! This room is available from 9am for your private party.
You may like to organize a prewedding breakfast on the big day or a very special tailored Champagne breakfast for your family including a fruit platter and a bottle of Prosecco delivered to your suite.
This room may be available as extra accommodation for your guests from 5pm subject to availability. (Priority will be given to wedding couples requiring this dressing room for their special day)
Our wedding team has compiled an extensive directory - whether it is flowers, leaves, or pumpkins that you require, from scented candles to piñatas it can all be found in our wedding directory.
We also offer recommendations for photographers, entertainment, car hire, cakes & alternative accommodation. Our directory is emailed over to you on confirmation of your booking.
All packages include a Red carpet on arrival with tea lights & candles throughout the Mill, Pavilion and Main House and a large easel to display your table plan and seasonal flowers in the Riversuite drawing rooms.
