The oldest hotel in Ireland, situated in the Vale of Avoca, one of Ireland's most beautiful locations, Woodenbridge Hotel & Lodge combines all the charm of yester year with all the facilities required of the modern hotel.
The Woodenbridge Hotel was first established in 1608, and has the distinction of being the oldest hotel in Ireland. Past guests include Eamonn De Valera and his wife Sinéad, who enjoyed their honeymoon in the hotel, Michael Collins, Charles Stewart Parnell, and John Redmond.

Our Wedding Team has years of experience and ensure that all the smaller elements of the day are in the right place, from fresh flowers, to romantic candle lit lanterns throughout the hotel.
Our naturally lit Banqueting room comfortably seats from 80-200. Within the Banqueting room you will have your own private bar, toilets and private courtyard which can accommodate a BBQ the following day if you plan on continuing the celebrations.
If you are planning on a civil ceremony you can have our Beautifully Set Ceremony room, the Lodge Room accommodating larger numbers which is naturally lit and boasts spectacular views of the Aughrim river and lawns. Depending on your choice of ceremony you may prefer to have it on the lawns of our Aughrim River.
We have put together the best of our menu’s and combined them with a variety of packages to include room décor, fine wines and drinks reception.
Eamon and Sinéad De Valera spent their honeymoon at the Woodenbridge Hotel in 1910. The room in which the De Valeras stayed is now named in their honour, and is an impressive and popular feature of the hotel.
Michael Collins, the revolutionary hero of the War of Independence, stayed at the Woodenbridge Hotel while engaging in secret meetings with senior British Army officers in February 1922.
